Genesis 7:5 "So Noah did exactly as the LORD had commanded him".

Genesis 7: 10 "One week later, the flood came and covered the earth. 11 When Noah was 600 years old, on the seventeenth day of the second month, the underground waters burst forth on the earth, and the rain fell in mighty torrents from the sky. 12 The rain continued to fall for forty days and forty nights. 13 But Noah had gone into the boat that very day with his wife and his sons—Shem, Ham, and Japheth—and their wives". (NLT)

Make a boat. Would you after hearing a voice, make the boat? Do you have the level of faith Noah had to build the boat? He built something no one had ever seen, to be used on water that no one had ever seen, to save the lives of people nobody knew. Future generations... us.

Do you think he was accepted in the community? That maybe he was the brunt of some gossip? Do you think that maybe, even his family questioned his actions? I believe their attitude changed when it started to rain. Is the faith project God gave you going to be ready when it starts to rain?

So what is faith? My bible defines it this way: FAITH - a belief in or confident attitude toward God, involving commitment to His will for one's life.

The bible describes different kinds of faith: Saving Faith - Romans 10:9, "9 For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved."

Temporary Faith – Luke 8:13 "13 The rocky soil represents those who hear the message with joy. But like young plants in such soil, their roots don't go very deep. They believe for a while, but they wilt when the hot winds of testing blow".

Dead Faith - James 2:17,20 “17 So you see, it isn't enough just to have faith. 20 Faith that doesn't show itself by good deeds is no faith at all—it is dead and useless."

Where is your faith at? Are you saved? You can't begin to use your faith unless you are born again. Is it temporary, is it intellectual, or is it dead?

This is the kind of faith I want, in Matthew 8:10 we read, “10 When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. Turning to the crowd, he said, "I tell you the truth, I haven't seen faith like this in all the land of Israel!" I don't know about you, but I would love to hear Jesus say this about my faith.

We read in the Contemporary English Bible in Habakkuk 2:4 “4 I, the LORD, refuse to accept anyone who is proud. Only those who live by faith are acceptable to me."

Hebrews 12:2 tells us how to live "2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from start to finish. He was willing to die a shameful death on the cross because of the joy he knew would be his afterword. Now he is seated in the place of highest honour beside God's throne in heaven".

We don't wake up one day and decide not to walk in faith. Satan is smart enough to know that if he pushed you off your belief system you would figure it out, but a gentle nudge, a lulling to sleep, a drifting from the truth you know – and he has you right where he wants you.

He may say things like, "Those people don't seem to accept you. They don't understand you". Or, "You don't need to go to church. You can learn about God here at home". It is said that when a wolf attacks a heard of sheep it goes for the loner, the weakest one. Are you running with the flock or trying to get alone by yourself?
