Northern Light Ministries
April 2009 News Letter.
Hello once again friends;
I want to start by apologizing for the long period of time between News Letters. No. You did not miss any, as you may have thought. We have been taking somewhat of a sabbatical (period of rest). We feel now is the time once again to pursue establishing His Church here in Whitehorse. Of interest though - it was six years ago today we arrived from Calgary “to begin our ministry.” We thank God that it is in His perfect timing.
I (Dale) am no longer working for an employer. I am working full time in the ministry.
Rena Mae is, for the time being, working at Mark's Work Warehouse. We have started meeting once again at the Yukon Inn, which is a neutral ground. So it may be easier for people who have been away from church or never attended a church meeting to feel comfortable. We understand it can be a big step.
Dale will be focusing on church administration. Also, God has opened a door to help a “Bibles for Missions” new store opening in Whitehorse. It is a thrift store that the proceeds go to Bible League of Canada, who supplies Bibles to missionaries around the world. We also have permission and their blessing to have a retail book, gift and Christian resource store within their store, to share expenses and distribute books and bibles into our community.
That is what “living in the super natural” is all about. We had a (small) vision for a book store and God had a vision to not only equip the community, but clothe them, provide a place to volunteer, minister and get ministered to. Provide ( free) clothing for the women's shelter, prison and detox center, as well as, local street people... and it shall come to pass! God is so good!
Below is the message I shared on Resurrection Sunday. It is where I believe, we as His Church need to get back too, especially in the economic times we hear about. I am so thankful I am in His economy - aren't you!
Are you Living in the Natural or the Supernatural?
What did Jesus do for us? When we read Mathew 27:27-66 we can a glimpse of what He did for us.
It is so much more than just fire insurance!
To explain all that was made available to us on that day would take eternity to explain. Just for the record - I'm still learning.
We have read what Jesus did for us - what did Jesus ask us to do for Him?
The answer I believe is found in Matthew 28:18-20 “18 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given complete authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
And in Mark 16:15-18 “15 And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone, everywhere. 16 Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned. 17 These signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak new languages. 18 They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick and heal them.”
Are you actively doing these things...
and seeing those results?
I love what Jesus says in John 14:12-14 - (One of the greatest truths, but least taught!)
“12 “The truth is, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.13 You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, because the work of the Son brings glory to the Father. 14 Yes, ask anything in my name, and I will do it!”
Religion says, “I'll do it - trust in me!”
Relationship says, “He will do it - Trust in Him!
Most people have heard that Jesus “went about doing good and healing everyone He met” Right? Wrong! He could only “do good and heal,” those that would believe!
Matthew 13:53-58 "53 When Jesus had finished telling these stories, he left that part of the country. 54 He returned to Nazareth, his hometown. When he taught there in the synagogue, everyone was astonished and said, “Where does he get his wisdom and his miracles? 55 He’s just a carpenter’s son, and we know Mary, his mother, and his brothers—James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas. 56 All his sisters live right here among us. What makes him so great?” 57 And they were deeply offended and refused to believe in him.
Then Jesus told them, “A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own hometown and among his own family.” 58 And so he did only a few miracles there because of their unbelief."
RELIGION (what we have heard) and what we see (circumstances or situations) - will block what Jesus has for us.
RELATIONSHIP looks through the crowd, looks through the day-to-day junk we face, looks through what have heard or expect Jesus to be or do! Relationship, with Jesus personally, looks to Him and not the church, not the building, not the pastor, not to what you heard all your life about Christianity!
Relationship is simply believing what Jesus
said and continues to say in His Word!
The disciples believed what Jesus said and the result was... Acts 5:12-16, Acts 9:32-43
The true Church is not a building! It is a body!
Ephesians 4:1-16, Ephesians 1:15-23 for further study.
What God can do through you, for others, is determined by what you are willing to believe!
What God can do for you, is determined by what you are willing to believe.
Where you live, is determined by, what you are willing to believe.
Again I ask... are you Living in the Natural or the Supernatural?
Have a super abundantly blessed day!
Until next time we love you,
Dale & Rena Mae
